Deep Mentoring

Who taught you something important about your innermost self? Who helped you make a major change of course? Wouldn't you like to be able to offer that kind of wisdom to others? To individuals or groups, informally or vocationally? 

This course shows you how through numerous examples in a variety of life settings. The methods can be applied almost anywhere, whether informally or as a healer, teacher, leader, coach, counselor, or community organizer. "Deep" prefers to what goes on beneath the surface of events, appearances, and even psychological symptoms. When we understand the deep dynamics of a given situation, we have much more insight about what is involved. This can be taught. 

This course offers:

1. A description of depth filled out with many examples from various life situations;

2. A discussion of the difference between mentoring and stuckness in a savior complex; and

3. Examples of deepening methods and exercises for understanding the roots of what we face.

Craig Chalquist, PhD, PhD is a depth psychologist and philosopher with a twenty-year career in higher ed, where he has taught at the intersection of consciousness, storytelling, imagination, nature, and place.
